WERRINGTON PARISH COUNCIL INVITE YOU TO HAVE YOUR SAY
In 2017 the Parish Council purchased the sports ground on Leek Road (next to Shuker’s Farm). Over the past few years, the Council have made improvements to the grounds and building, and the football pitches are now being used on a weekly basis by several teams. In addition to this, weekly car boot sales are held from Spring to Autumn.
The Parish Council would like to maximise the usage of the sports ground for all residents, for a variety of purposes. With this in mind, the Parish Council are putting together a five-year plan to develop the sports ground and offer alternatives to football.
Some of the following ideas have been suggested:
- Extension for a classroom/meeting room/function room
- Complete the fencing all around the site (currently just at the front)
- Astro pitch
- Events – Live music, circus, colour run, food festival, outdoor cinema, inflatables.
To find out what improvements residents would like to see, and what alternatives they would like offered, the Council have devised a simple survey. The online version can be accessed by following the link below:
For those without access to the internet, paper copies of the survey will be available at the following locations: Doctors surgery, Co-op, the Cabin, Funky Fillerz, the chip shop, and the library. Once completed they can be posted in the boxes provided there.
If you are not mobile and getting out is difficult for you, then please feel free to call the Deputy Clerk on 07860 397595, who will post one out to you.
Thank you for your support. The survey will run until Friday 25th March.
